Getting started

A workspace is your company’s seat: its team, its tasks, its connections. Setting one up takes a few minutes and one browser session. You can also do most of it from your assistant; see Set up from your assistant.

1. Sign in

Open the Tandem portal and sign in with GitHub, Google, or an email address and a password. The address you sign in with is the one the team knows you by.

2. Name the workspace

A name is 3 to 30 lower-case letters, digits and dashes, starting with a letter. It becomes the workspace’s address, <name>.app.numux.tech, and cannot be changed later. Choose the team the workspace seats:

  • Engineering: a CEO, a Product Lead, a CTO, a Senior Coder, QA and a Security Auditor. For a company with code.
  • Visibility: a CEO and a Product Lead over a Visibility Lead, a Site Auditor, an Answers Analyst, a Writer and a Fact-checker. For a company that wants to know, and improve, how it shows up in search and in AI answers.

3. Connect what the team works with

The walk asks, in order, for each connection that is offered. Every step can be skipped and done later from the workspace.

  1. Slack: add Tandem to your Slack, so a message to the company becomes work. See Slack.
  2. Code: sign in with GitHub and pick the repositories the team works on. See Code.
  3. Issue tracker: connect Linear with an API key, or Jira with a site, an email and a token. See Issue trackers.
  4. How the team starts: the CEO reads what is connected, asks you at most three questions and puts up the first week as a plan. The one thing to choose is whether the team may start on further work by itself, or asks you first.
  5. Model keys: your own key, or Tandem’s models. See Model keys.
  6. A plan: Hello Tandemai, Team or Scale, paid monthly. See Plans and billing.

4. Let it build

Section titled “4. Let it build”

The workspace is built in a few minutes: created, started, certified, and seated with its team. The page keeps itself up to date and opens the workspace when it is ready. The CEO’s first message to you is a plan for the first week.

What happens next

  • In the workspace: the tasks, the team, the plans as cards to accept, and everything the team wrote.
  • In Slack: the team’s channel, where you talk to it and where its scorecard lands every Monday.
